CIT2ADM for Pedestrians

About the city. In Paris, 60% of trips are usually done by foot. In order to make pedestrian traffic easier and safer, especially for the most vulnerable segments of the population, a number of developments have been implemented in the city over the past few years.

Goals

The Aim of “Cit2Adm for Pedestrians” is to provide an open-data source of any kind of incidents and reports to Smart-cities and help them involve citizens in the process, and also to provide pedestrian safety.

Implementation period. The program was launched in 2018.

Fact

There are problems such as motorized two-wheel vehicles that are either being operated or parked on sidewalks, street furniture that is too numerous and often badly placed, and cafe terraces that get in the way do little to facilitate movement for pedestrians.

In Paris, pedestrian deaths represent a terrifying half of all road fatalities, 66% in Greater Paris in 2016.

Solutions

“CIT2ADM for Pedestrians” is a mobile app that pedestrians can use to report any problem that they face when walking on pavement, for the purpose of preventing a potential accident, as well as improving safety in the neighbourhood. This platform provides an innovative and collaborative tool that allows any pedestrian to report and to track any incident that pedestrians faced on daily basis during their way through the city: pedestrians can send the reports by clicking a picture and writing a short description of the issue.

Through the use of advanced geolocation (GPS) technologies, this app attaches the user’s location to every report they post, this allows administrations to pinpoint the report’s location so that they can easily pay attention to the problem, solve it and provide a better quality of life for citizens.

“CIT2ADM for Pedestrians” is a self-training tool that informs, educates and encourages individuals to behave as a Respectful Citizen. Citizens can track the status of their own report, as well as track the community reports being submitted by other citizens.

Also, there is a “CIT2ADM for Municipalities”, designed especially for municipalities, supplies an interface allowing the municipal team to manage in real-time all the issues raised by the pedestrians via the application “CIT2ADM for Pedestrians” and to solve them.
